My First Schnitzel Paying With Bitcoin

Yesterday I discovered that I’m not alone, there are more than I thought. I not only got to enjoy a Schnitzel and pay for it using my sats, but I also realized there are far more people willing to pay with Bitcoin in Vienna than I had imagined.

I definitely need to search better and, above all, communicate and market more the fact that we accept Bitcoin payments at my shop and at our events. As Paul from Delicious told me, I shouldn’t be afraid or shy about sharing this openly with my customers and my neighborhood. For some reason, I’m still a bit timid or insecure about telling the world that I’m passionate about Bitcoin and its technology, and that I want more and more businesses to start accepting payments with it. I still don’t fully understand where that hesitation comes from, since I’ve been personally supporting and promoting Bitcoin for years.

Seeing Paul’s example, how he empowers Bitcoin in his business, how he communicates it and markets it, really helped me. His work and the path he has walked are inspiring, not only for me but for any business that wants to integrate Bitcoin payments and understand that yes, there are people who prefer to pay with it. We may be few, but little by little we are creating the offers that will pave the way for building an economy that uses the Bitcoin network as a bridge for exchanging value.

My dream is that, in a few years, I’ll be able to say that my entire economy, or at least most of it, runs on Bitcoin. It’s a path that, now more than ever, I’ve decided to fully embrace.

Thank you, Paul, and thank you, Delicious, for opening these spaces, inspiring others, and paving the way for those of us who are coming after. I’m leaving not only with the joy of meeting new people and making connections, but also with a great example and a reference of how Bitcoin can be integrated, not only as a payment method but also as a symbol and a differentiator for a business.

A lot to learn and a lot to put into practice.
